The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the Federal Minister for the European Union and Constitutional Affairs of the Republic of Austria Karoline Edtstadler.
The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, the process of European integration, as well as the prospect of obtaining candidate status for membership in the European Union.
On this occasion, the President Cvijanović pointed out that the institutions of Srpska are dedicated to the European path, and that they expect a realistic and principled approach towards BiH from the EU and its member states, as well as full respect for its constitutional structure.
During the meeting, the President of Srpska emphasized the importance of preserving peace and stability, and effectively overcoming political challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina through an internal dialogue of representatives of all constituent nations.
At the meeting, it was noted that Austria is an important foreign trade partner of the Republic of Srpska and expressed commitment to further improvement of economic cooperation.
