The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Petrinja with the Civil Protection Headquarters in charge of removing the consequences of the devastating earthquake, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Milošević, MP of the Independent Democratic Serbian Party in the Croatian Parliament Dragan Jeckov, Head of the SDSS Parliamentary Club Milorad Pupovac and BiH Ambassador to Croatia Aleksandar Vranješ.
After the meeting, the President of the Republic stated that the areas in Croatia which are most severely affected by the earthquake can count on the help of the Republic of Srpska institutions in the coming period.
The President Cvijanović emphasized that she was happy since the Government of Srpska and she, as the President of the Republic, were able to intervene after the earthquake and send quick help to the most endangered, letting them know that they are there for everything they need.
“We discussed the needs for the future and activities being carried out to repair the damage, which is huge and which shook us who live in the Republic of Srpska, not only because we had an earthquake but because we showed solidarity with the victims”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic pointed out that such troubles are the right occasion to show solidarity, and that there is a good will to solve problems together.
“I want to praise the perfect programme and software that I saw here, which allows us to have a very detailed and excellent presentation of everything that happens here, mapping of certain objects, damage assessment and everything related to the land and large splits that have appeared here”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic expressed the wish that Petrinja and Glina recover quickly and that all local families can continue to live normally.
“We in the Republic of Srpska are here for what is needed”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska once again expressed her condolences to the families of the victims, citizens and institutions of Croatia, emphasizing that they all face a great challenge in the coming period.
The President Cvijanović stated that certain infrastructural projects were also discussed at the meeting, such as the construction of the bridge on the Sava River near Gradiška, the construction of which should be completed in accordance with the deadlines.
