President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the Chairman of the BiH Presidency

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Banja Luka with the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik.

At the meeting with the BiH Presidency Chairman, the President of the Republic of Srpska submitted a list of people proposed to work in the BiH diplomatic and consular network and stressed that those who would protect the interests of Srpska in the BiH foreign affairs will be selected and that they will not work to the detriment of others in BiH.

The President of the Republic emphasized that all Serbs will be withdrawn from 16 diplomatic and consular offices and embassies of BiH in the upcoming period, including Japan, Bulgaria, Israel, Switzerland, Canada, Greece, Romania, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, OSCE, Frankfurt, Istanbul, followed by the appointment of a new staff representing the interests of the Republic of Srpska.

The President Cvijanović added that a new appointment for Macedonia is expected.

The President of Srpska emphasized that this would be one of the points at the BiH Presidency session.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the intention was to return certain matters within the framework of constitutional procedures and to express the interests of the Republic of Srpska through the BiH foreign affairs.

According to the President Cvijanović, at the meeting it was agreed to introduce a new dimension in the foreign affairs of the institutions, to select new people who will perform these important tasks abroad on behalf of everyone within BiH.

The President of the Republic emphasized that the citizens of the Republic of Srpska expected their interests would be expressed in the framework of the BiH foreign affairs, which could not be seen in the previous period.

“We are working to ensure that the representation of our interests is adequate to our needs”, said the President Cvijanović.
