The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to BiH Ulrike Hartmann and discussed the current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH.
The recent local elections in BiH were also discussed at the meeting, with a special emphasis on the issue of the Election Law and the possibility of improving the election process in BiH.
On this occasion, they discussed the crisis caused by the spread of the Coronavirus, and stated that the priority tasks at this time are to protect the health of the population and to mitigate the consequences of the pandemic to the both global and national economies.
During the meeting, it was pointed out that Austria is an important foreign trade partner of the Republic of Srpska, and that the close proximity of the European Union is one of the most important factors which attracted numerous Austrian investors to Srpska.
