President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the Ambassador of Germany to BiH

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the Ambassador of Germany to BiH Christiane Hohmann and discussed the current political and economic issues in the Republic of Srpska and BiH with an emphasis on the European integration process.

On this occasion, the President Cvijanović stressed that the institutions of Srpska were committed to the continuation of the European path with full respect for the constitutional competences of all levels of government in BiH and the Dayton Accords, thus stressing the importance of respecting the rules of the harmonised coordination mechanism.

Speaking about the fulfillment of obligations in the process of joining the European Union, the President Cvijanović briefed the Ambassador Hohmann that the Republic of Srpska was the first to verify the translated consolidated answers to additional questions from the European Commission Questionnaire.

The President of the Republic emphasized that economic issues remain a priority in the work of Srpska institutions, with a focus on a strategic approach in creating a framework for implementing development programmes and attracting domestic and foreign investments and raising the standard of living of the citizens of Srpska.

Interlocutors jointly assessed that it is important to continue reform processes in the future in order to improve and create better economic environment, and in this context, the expectation is that government at all levels in BiH would be formed as soon as possible.

During the meeting, it was stated that the cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and Germany is good, and they expressed belief that it will be continued in the future as well.
