President of the Republic of Srpska meets with Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council of the United States of America in Washington

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met with the Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council of the United States of America Damon Wilson in Washington today.

Current security challenges facing the Republic of Srpska and BiH, the countries of the Western Balkans, and the military future of BiH were issues discussed at the meeting.

The President of the Republic of Srpska expressed belief that the current cooperation with the United States in the field of security will be continued in the future, so that the level of safety in the Republic of Srpska and BiH would be raised to a higher level.

As a part of the visit to the United States of America, the President of the Republic of Srpska met previously in the Pentagon with the Commander of the Maryland National Guard, Major General Timothy E. Gowen.

At the meeting they discussed the possibilities for enhancing the co-operation between the institutions of Srpska and Maryland so far, with a particular focus on the civilian part of the co-operation, which includes civil protection training, cyber security, as well as student and academic staff exchanges.
