The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Washington with senators and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee Ron Johnson and Jeanne Shaheen.
During the meeting, the President Cvijanović briefed the Senator Johnson and Senator Shaheen about current political challenges in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other current topics.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic expressed the full commitment of the institutions of the Republic of Srpska to the preservation of peace and stability, the commitment to consistent respect for the Dayton Agreement and the preservation of the jurisdiction and constitutional capacity of the Republic of Srpska.
The President Cvijanović assessed that in order to overcome the current political crisis and solve the open issues that burden relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to understand an internal dialogue of domestic political actors, without outside interference.
During her working visit to the United States, the President of the Republic will meet with the Congressman Ro Khanna, the US Special Representative to the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar and representatives of the civil sector, institutes and the business community.
