President of the Republic of Srpska meets in New York with the Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organisations in the USA

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in New York with the Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organisations in the USA Malcolm Hoenlein.

The current political and safety challenges in the Balkans and at the global level were discussed at the meeting, as well as the strengthening of the cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and influential Jewish organisations in the United States.

During the meeting, the President Cvijanović expressed her satisfaction over the Republic of Srpska having excellent cooperation with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organisations in the United States, to which we are tied by long-standing friendship and understanding.

The President Cvijanović expressed her satisfaction with the fact that Srpska has operational institutions, political stability, as well as an improved economic, financial and social situation, and stressed that it is necessary to form a new Council of Ministers as soon as possible.

On this occasion, the President Cvijanović emphasized that the Republic of Srpska institutions are committed to both strengthening capacities to counter terrorism and extremism and the international cooperation in order to successfully face common safety challenges.

The President of the Republic of Srpska briefed Hoenlein on the joint activities of Serbia and Srpska related to the construction of the Memorial Complex in Donja Gradina. On this occasion, the President Cvijanović also thanked Hoenlein for an earlier visit to this memorial site that is important for both the Serb and the Jewish people.

The President Cvijanović stressed that for the Serb people, it is significant that memorial to the victims of the Ustasha death camps Jadovno-Gospić-Pag was unveiled recently in New York.
