The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović laid a wreath today in Banja Luka on the occasion of marking the 30th anniversary of the death of 12 babies.

During the address at the memorial “Život”, the President Cvijanović said that the suffering of 12 babies was the saddest event because it was a time when innocent, newborn children were killed, who today were supposed to be 30-year-old adults who would build their families.

The President of the Republic emphasized that everyone in the Republic of Srpska is sad about this event, because it is related to the greatest brutality, which originates from the United Nations Security Council, which was supposed to be at the service of all those who are at war and who need help.

“Even today, difficult battles are being fought and the Republic of Srpska is under pressure, but no one can take away oxygen for our youngest. These battles are daily in order to give up ourselves, our identity, to diminish the chances for the Republic of Srpska, just as they diminished the chances for these children”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska said that institutions and citizens should commit themselves to what is called a safe Republic of Srpska, in which no one will ever take away the right of children to live and have treatment, to go to good schools and build a secure future.
