President of the Republic of Srpska hosts a reception on the occasion of January 9, the Day of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović hosted today a reception on the occasion of marking January 9 – the Day of the Republic of Srpska at the Palace of the Republic of Srpska. The President of the Republic of Srpska stated in Banja Luka today that Srpska safely moves to the future and expressed the belief that January 9 – the Day of the Republic shall be marked solemnly and with dignity.

“We are heading towards the Day of the Republic, which is an opportunity to show a commitment to mark the January 9 with many events”, said the President Cvijanović in her address at the reception marking the Day of the Republic of Srpska for the delegations of the National Assembly, the Council of Peoples, the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the representatives of the Republic of Srpska joint bodies of BiH.

The President of the Republic emphasized that a formal academy and defile will be held on January 9, as well as a series of other events.

“It is an opportunity to show that we are convinced of the Republic and its future, but also that we are together looking forward on that day. I am pleased that our institutions show capacity and are able to overcome certain issues, and we have shown that we can constitute government in Srpska without a problem, after the elections”, it was added by the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska believes that the Day of the Republic will be moral and every other orientation for the time ahead.

“I am pleased with what we have achieved in the previous period when it comes to the general ambience, stability, work of institutions, solving economic and social and financial problems, but also how we dealt with certain political challenges. I shall never say that this is enough, since it is the basis for us to go further”, the President of the Republic emphasized.

The President Cvijanović expressed satisfaction that after the constitution, the Government started to work with some new tasks and commitments, which shows upgrading after the basic issues were resolved.

“Rightly our citizens want us to work as well as we can. We are committed to doing so. Of course, we shall have different political views, but it is important that there is a complete unity on strategically important issues for Srpska, and I am certain that we shall achieve that”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic noted that it was necessary to form the government at the level of BiH and to have people who are committed to moving with Srpska and its institutions to a certain and better future, and expressed the hope that this will be resolved quickly.

“I am satisfied with the Prime Minister’s exposition and the dynamics of work that is visible, as well as with the determination to work more on the economic sphere. We must not lose sight of the fact that we will be faced with numerous political challenges”, said the President Cvijanović, adding that she would try to take over the policy-related pressures in order for the Government to work smoothly.

“I am expecting the full support of the National Assembly, because the people gave the MPs the confidence for quality work. I expect support for the activities that we shall implement in the following period. I shall try to maintain good communication with the social partners, and I shall be open for talks with local communities”, it was concluded by the President Cvijanović.

The reception was also held for the delegations of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Srpska, the judicial bodies of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska and the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska.

The reception was attended by delegations of the Republic of Srpska Veteran organisations, retired generals of Srpska, the Association of the creators of the Republic of Srpska, the Association of the Armed Forces of BiH Military Pensioners of Srpska and the Organisation of the Army Seniors of the Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
