President of the Republic of Srpska hosts a reception on the occasion of January 9, the Day of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović hosted today a reception on the occasion of marking January 9 – the Day of the Republic of Srpska at the Palace of the Republic of Srpska. The President of the Republic of Srpska said that Srpska is stable, that the institutions function and that the goal is to speak with one voice, since it is significant for policy making and its presentation.

“I am sure this is possible despite various political agendas. I believe that we are on the right path to have such a representation within the Republic, but also in every place where Srpska has to express its view, very often political one. It is therefore important that we all together are in the creation of certain policies and in their communication”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic pointed out that the institutions of Srpska have shown that they are able to gather around important issues, not only humanitarian, but also to understand and adequately mark important historical facts and added she believes that better times are ahead of the Republic of Srpska.

At the reception for the delegations of the institutions of culture and science, representatives of the publishers from Srpska, students, awarded pupils, athletes and the delegation of the Union of National Minorities of Srpska on the occasion of marking January 9 – the Day of the Republic, the President of the Republic of Srpska said that after the October elections all government institutions were constituted on time.

“I expect to continue to be gathered around the interests of the Republic of Srpska and its institutions, to resolve the issues through dialogue”, added the President Cvijanović and reminded that the Government of Srpska started its functioning and that the budget for 2019 was adopted.

“There are still many political, financial and economic and social challenges ahead, but when there is good will and when we are together, then we can make progress”, said the President of Srpska, adding that she is aware that there are many needs in Srpska, but and that despite the strong pressures and challenges of the previous period, they managed to stabilise the system.

“If we had documented record indicators in the previous period, this does not mean that we should be overwhelmed, but we should understand that this is the basis for further movement. On this line, I communicate with the new Government and all other representatives of institutions”, said the President Cvijanović at the reception and told officials that they have made a significant contribution.

The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that it was important that all people at significant positions understand that the decision they make can affect the life of the Republic for 10, 20 and more years, especially the political decisions that the institutions must adopt and know how to do it.
