President of the Republic of Srpska holds a reception for representatives of religious communities in the Republic of Srpska on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović held a reception today at the Palace of the Republic for representatives of religious communities in the Republic of Srpska – Metropolitan of Dabar and Bosnia Hrizostom, Bishop of Banja Luka Jefrem, Bishop of Zvornik and Tuzla Fotije, Bishop of Bihać and Petrovac Sergije, Bishop of Zahumlje and Herzegovina Dimitrije, Mufti of Banja Luka Nusret ef. Abdibegović and Catholic Bishop of Banja Luka Franjo Komarica.

At the reception, attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković, Serb Member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and Acting Director of the Republican Secretariat for Religion Dragan Davidović, the President Cvijanović assessed the cooperation of the republican institutions with all religious communities as positive and highlighted that in the Republic of Srpska an environment was created for the smooth process and operation of all confessions.

Religious freedoms have been found to be very important for any democratic society in which all religious communities have equal treatment, and that tolerance, understanding and respect are the keys to the survival of all peoples in this region.
