President of the Republic of Srpska holds a meeting with representatives of parliamentary political parties in the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović held a meeting today with the Republic of Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković, Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Srpska Anton Kasipović and Srebrenka Golić, Serb Presidency Member Milorad Dodik and representatives of parliamentary parties that make up the majority in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska.

The main topics of the meeting were the political and economic situation in Srpska, 100 working days of the Government and the formation of government at the BiH level.

The President Cvijanović said that Srpska firmly goes forward and that the commitment of its top officials and the ruling coalition is that institutional and political stability remains a priority.

“In accordance with the previous agreement, salaries in educational sector were increased by eight percent, and salaries for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by 10 percent.

We have also had the adjustment of pensions by over two percent, which, with an earlier increase of 20 percent, shows the commitment to improving the standards of the oldest population”, said the President of the Republic after the meeting in Banja Luka.

The President Cvijanović emphasized that there are no delays in the implementation of infrastructure projects, including roads, highways and bridges, and that again the focus is on the construction of energy facilities, that is, hydroelectric power plants such as “Foča”, “Paunci” and “Buk Bijela”.

The President Cvijanović stressed that Srpska returns to the construction of a major gas pipeline project through Srpska, as well as secondary gas pipelines through all local communities, stressing that this project would mobilise the entire society and create conditions for continuation of the development of Srpska.

“This will create the conditions for continuing the development of Srpska in order to achieve economic growth of 4.5%, 5% or 6% as soon as possible, which would improve the living standards”, said the President of the Republic.

The President Cvijanović said that the Government remains committed to improving the demographic image of Srpska and added that this will be implemented along with the activities she launched as the President of Srpska.

“There is a great obligation to work on strengthening the economy. More jobs are needed in the real sector and the administration needs to be reduced. Salaries must continue to increase. I am pleased that during the previous government, we have managed to increase the salaries of all employees. Now, we make assumptions to work to increase wages in the real sector”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska pointed out that this is an opportunity to analyse some of the existing measures in terms of helping the families, mothers, students and youth.

“We should develop and promote it in the upcoming period together, and the expert and operational team should give adequate answers to the above questions”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that the ruling majority in the Republic of Srpska is moving in line with the work programmes of the National Assembly and, accordingly, the Government.

“We are committed to developing cooperation with everyone. We shall work together, knowing that there will be challenges in front of us. We are ready to resolve one problem at a time”, said the President Cvijanović and stated that the personnel issues will be discussed by the ruling majority in coalition meetings.

The President of Srpska said that institutional and political stability contributes to a better economic and safety situation, adding that because of the broad coalition, the Government of the Republic of Srpska is functioning smoothly and added that at the meeting it was concluded that the government should be formed as soon as possible on the level of BiH in order for the projects and arrangements to be implemented, so that citizens would not suffer any harm.

The President of Srpska supported the activities of the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik at the BiH level, since he works in complicated and difficult conditions.

The meeting with the Republic of Srpska President Željka Cvijanović was also attended by the Serb Member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister Radovan Višković and Deputy-Prime Ministers of the Republic of Srpska Anton Kasipović and Srebrenka Golić, DNS leader Marko Pavić, SP leader Petar Đokić, Ujedinjena Srpska leader Nenad Stevandić, leader of Demos Nedeljko Čubrilović and NDP official Vojislav Gligić. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Finance in the Government of the Republic of Srpska Zora Vidović.
