President of the Republic of Srpska extends congratulations on the occasion of May 12 – the Day of the Army of the Republic of Srpska and the 30th anniversary of its formation

On the occasion of May 12 – the Day of the Army of the Republic of Srpska and 30 years since its formation, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović extended congratulations to all members of the Army of the Republic of Srpska and the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces.

“On the occasion of May 12 – the Day of the Army of the Republic of Srpska and 30 years since its formation, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and on my own behalf I extend my sincere congratulations to all members of the Army of the Republic of Srpska and the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH.

The formation of the Army of the Republic of Srpska on May 12, 1992 is one of the most important dates in our recent history, when the fate of the Serb people in this area was traced. Formed out of the need to protect its own people and the right to live in centuries-old hearths, the army was the main and decisive force in the defense of the Republic of Srpska.

The celebration of this important jubilee is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the honorable and glorious path of the army in the Defense and Patriotic War and to express deep respect and eternal gratitude for the freedom that was paid for by the lives of more than 23,000 of our best sons.

That is why today we remember with special reverence all those who, by brave deeds, not sparing their lives and body parts, enabled us to create a free, strong and stable Republic of Srpska, but also permanently obliged us to preserve and strengthen it, as the greatest heritage and guarantee of our stability of the future.

Convinced that the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment will continue to preserve the memories of the heroes, traditions and glorious victories of the Army of the Republic of Srpska, I cordially greet you”, reads the congratulatory message from the President Cvijanović.
