President of the Republic of Srpska extends congratulations on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović extended congratulations to all women on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to you on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day and I wish you and your families a lot of health, happiness and success.

The celebration of March 8, a holiday that symbolises the struggle for women’s rights and equality, is an opportunity to recall the long journey that women have gone through in the pursuit of social and gender equality.

The Republic of Srpska, as a mature democratic society, has achieved a lot on the path of women’s inclusion in public, professional and political life, but the need for further emancipation of women, improving their economic and social position, as well as protection from all forms of discrimination as a whole.

Striving for the highest standards in the field of gender equality, the institutions of the Republic of Srpska will continue to contribute to the advancement of women’s rights and position, empowerment, as well as raising awareness of their importance and role in society”, said the President Cvijanović.
