President of the Republic of Srpska extends congratulations on March 8th – International Women’s Day

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović extended congratulations to all women on the occasion of March 8th – the International Women’s Day.

“I extend my heartiest congratulations on the occasion of March 8th – the International Women’s Day, and I wish you and your families a lot of health, happiness and success.

Marking March 8th is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the long journey women have gone through in order to be recognised for basic human rights and to emphasize that this date should not be the only day of the year when we speak about women, because their rights should be respected every day.

Today, women in the Republic of Srpska hold a number of high and responsible positions and their participation in political and public decision-making in the Republic confirms that Srpska is a mature democratic society.

The institutions of the Republic of Srpska will continue to contribute to the advancement of women’s rights and status in society by creating its policies and measures”, reads the congratulation note by the President Cvijanović.
