President of the Republic of Srpska congratulates the Day of Veterans of the Defense Patriotic War

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović extended congratulations today to the President of the Republic of Srpska Veterans Organisation Milomir Savčić and all former members of the Republic of Srpska Army on the occasion of the Day of Veterans of the Defense Patriotic War of the Republic of Srpska and the First Serbian Uprising.

“I extend the most sincere congratulations to all veterans of the Republic of Srpska on the occasion of the Day of Veterans of the Defense Patriotic War of the Republic of Srpska and the First Serbian Uprising.

The role and significance of the veterans in the creation and preservation of the Republic of Srpska are immeasurable and permanently written on the pages of the history of the Serbian people. For all of us in Srpska this is the day when with utmost respect and appreciation we remember those who, guided by honourable and patriotic goals, gave the most valuable thing they had, their lives, for the freedom we enjoy today.

Their sacrifice obliges us to strengthen and build the Republic of Srpska and its institutions, and, in cooperation with all organisations arising from the Defense and Patriotic War, we shall continue to work on solving the problem of the veteran population and further improving their position in society”, it is stated in congratulation message of the President of the Republic of Srpska.
