The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović chaired today in Banja Luka the Fourth Session of the Republic of Srpska Senate.
The Senate of the Republic of Srpska has concluded that the Republic of Srpska institutions should use all available political and legal means to prevent any further unconstitutional transformation of BiH, said the President of the Republic.
“Certain analysis also needs to be done to see how things within BiH can be returned to what constitutional structures are that established the current BiH, not the one coming from possible imaginations or different interpretations”, said the President Cvijanović after the Senate Session.
The President of the Republic stressed that the Senate proposes that the institutions of Srpska, primarily the National Assembly, the Government, the Constitutional Court, ANURS and all organisations of public interest are actively involved in the process of analysing the constitutional structure of BiH and the effects of the unconstitutional transformation of the transferred competences.
The President Cvijanović emphasized that the Senate calls on political factors from the Republic of Srpska to express unity each time it is debated or when there is an issue of strategic importance to Srpska, since it addresses its position, competence or status.
The President of Srpska stated that members of the Senate discussed all relevant issues at the Session, such as the Bonn powers, as well as the attacks on the Republic of Srpska, which have existed since its inception.
“We were dealing with what these attacks are and what such attacks produced on what the constitutional structure is, what is the situation in which we live in BiH today, and what are the problems we are facing”, said the President Cvijanović adding that the Senate was contented since the Republic of Srpska had shown full democratic capacity after the elections and immediately established institutions of government, which work smoothly and deal with serious problems.
“We also discussed topics related to the economic-financial and social issues and noted that there is a stable growth and that the institutions are doing their job, and that the promises that have been made, in terms of increasing salaries, pensions and other things, are being fulfilled”, said the President Cvijanović adding that the Senate supported the Government to continue fulfilling its obligations in this way, strengthening the economic and financial side of everyday life.
“We have unity within the Senate, but it also seeks unity among political entities, both for tomorrow’s session and every time it comes to major issues. Unfortunately, we have a situation in practice where many great issues get underestimated by certain political parties, and it is often unknown whether this was a misunderstanding or part of a matrix for some behaviors”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.
The President Cvijanović stressed that she believed in the institutions of the Republic of Srpska, and stressed the importance for the National Assembly to come to some conclusions tomorrow, which would be realistic and applicable, and would entail a process where all enter together within the Republic of Srpska.
The Senate Session was attended by the Serb Member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, Speaker of the Republic of Srpska National Assembly Nedeljko Čubrilović and Chairman of the Republic of Srpska Council of Peoples Nada Tešanović.
