The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today the session of the Management Board of the Employment Service of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka.
The President of the Republic of Srpska announced that as the President of the Republic she would launch a multi-year national programme for the demographic revival of Srpska.
“The goal of this programme is a demographic revival, creating the conditions for people to stay here and to increase their employment, creating conditions for greater creativity, inventiveness and initiatives”, explained the President Cvijanović.
The President of Srpska stated that this programme was ambitious since it had to clearly elaborate, identify and detect all the reasons why “we had to deal with these problems today in a special way”.
The President of the Republic said that many subjects would be included in this programme, and one of the important partners within this programme would be the Employment Service of the Republic of Srpska with its targeted measures to be agreed upon.
The President Cvijanović stated that it was never too late to launch this project, noting that a set of measures had already been defined and implemented in the framework of population policy or support to population measures in the Republic of Srpska.
The President of Srpska reminded that the Government of the Republic of Srpska had provided certain support for years in order to boost the population policy in Srpska.
“When it comes to young people, the Government provided subsidised interest rates for resolving housing problem of young people and this was the targeted measure that yielded results”, said the President Cvijanović.
According to the President of the Republic, the Government of the Republic of Srpska introduced some other measures – allowance for unemployed new mothers in the amount of 405 BAM for 12 and 18 months, support for having three or four children, supplies for newborns, construction of 96 houses for multi-member families throughout Srpska, a programme for supporting elementary school children of the first and second grade by free textbooks, this programme was then extended to all nine grades of elementary school for the best pupils from multi-member families.
The President of Srpska stated that the Start-up Srpska Programme would be implemented in the Republic of Srpska worth two million BAM, whose target group were employment of young people up to 35 in the Republic of Srpska.
“The total amount of two million BAM has been provided. The Government of Serbia participated with the amount of half a million of euros and the rest was secured by the Government of the Republic of Srpska”, explained the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska assessed that this was a very encouraging programme that would enable young people who have entered the process or who want to launch a particular new business to have a significant support.
The President Cvijanović notes that this programme differs significantly from all previous support programmes since it offers a greater financial basis for launching certain business activities.
“Depending on the activity, the amounts range from 20,000 BAM, 30,000 BAM and 50,000 BAM. It is the Employment Service Management Board’s position that this money can provide you a solid start of your business if you have a good business plan and vision”, it was said by the President of the Republic of Srpska.
The President Cvijanović said that this was a new programme, compatible with all other employment programmes implemented by the Employment Service of the Republic of Srpska, which were related to different categories of population.
The President of Srpska said that the Employment Action Programme that was conducted in Srpska gave results, which was clearly seen in the fact that there was a persistent tendency to increase the number of employees, and decrease the number of unemployed people in the Republic of Srpska, which was the part of the targeted measures of the institutions of Srpska.
