President of the Republic of Srpska attends the opening of the reconstructed Elementary School in Naseobina Lišnja near Prnjavor

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today the opening of the reconstructed Elementary School “Meša Selimović” in the Naseobina Lišnja near Prnjavor, where 166,000 BAM was invested.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that all conditions for teaching in this school have now been created.

“Today, this is a modern school with a new facade, joinery and central heating”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President Cvijanović thanked parents, students and especially educators of this school who have been working for many years in such bad school conditions.

“Today, they have the opportunity to perform classes in much better conditions. Their commitment was never questionable, as well as their commitment to work together with the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the municipality, and to delegate certain problems in order to improve the teaching process together, to create better conditions for work”, said the President of Srpska.

The President Cvijanović stressed that the local community activism has led to the point the republican government at Prnjavor municipality level to carry out several important projects related to infrastructure, school facilities and everything else that the local community considered to be of interest.

“In the previous period, as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, I had the opportunity to approve such projects together with the Government. We shall continue to do this in the upcoming period, the financial situation today is much more stable compared to the previous period, we can make additional steps”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska, adding that in the municipality of Prnjavor there are several other important projects in preparation supported by the republican institutions.

The Governments of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska supported this project with around 100,000 BAM, while the municipality of Prnjavor invested more than 68,000 BAM.

The Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska donated 25,000 BAM to the Elementary School “Meša Selimović” for replacement of school and office furniture.
