President of the Republic of Srpska attends the marking of the patron saint`s day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska – St. Michael the Archangel

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today in Banja Luka the marking of the patron saint`s day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska – St. Michael the Archangel.

The marking of the patron saint`s day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska began with the presentation of report by the honour unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Srpska to the President Željka Cvijanović.

After the report, a memorial service to the fallen members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held in front of the Central memorial place.

Wreaths were laid at the Central Memorial place to the fallen members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska within the framework of marking the patron saint`s day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The wreaths were laid by the Republic of Srpska President Željka Cvijanović, Chair to the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, Minister of Internal Affairs Dragan Lukač, Republic of Srpska Police Director Darko Ćulum, National Assembly delegation, Government of Srpska Delegation and the Prime Minister Designate Radovan Višković.

The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized that today’s date was extremely important since it referred to several important events. “We have the Day of the Liberation of Banja Luka, the Dayton Peace Agreement was initialed on today’s date, and we are also marking the patron saint`s day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic congratulated all members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska the patron saint`s day – St. Michael the Archangel.

“Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are the only uniformed force of the Republic of Srpska and they show it by preserving identity and national characteristics, but they also show what is the most important in realising a major role. I am pleased since as Prime Minister I was in a position to invest much more resources in previous years in the field of security, weaponry, equipment and construction of facilities for our police. I am sure that the new government will continue with this”, it was stressed by the President of the Republic of Srpska.

According to the President Cvijanović, it is necessary to continue with strengthening the Republic of Srpska Police and to take care of security, as well as that its members are an important part of global and regional actions to combat crime, terrorism and everything that is a threat to today’s world.
