The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today the marking of the Patron Saint of the Church of the Transfiguration in Pofalići.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that Serbs want to live in peace, developing their institutions and cooperating with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The President Cvijanović said that gathering around the messages on the occasion of major holidays, messages about what has been learned from the past and goals for the future, is a positive path to a prosperous future.
“We want to cooperate with non-governmental associations and with everyone who today makes up our community, which is the Republic of Srpska”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Cvijanović expressed her satisfaction that she is attending the commemoration of the Patron Saint of this church for the second time.
“This is a sign of support for our people, admittedly, the few who are left to live in Sarajevo, but also for our people from East Sarajevo who take care of the needs of the Church here”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Cvijanović also thanked the clergy who, as she said, take care of the Serbs regardless of where they live.
“There are few Serbs who stayed in Sarajevo to live. They generally went with their families somewhere far away or are in the territory of the Republic of Srpska. This does not diminish our need to always be with them”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.
