President of the Republic of Srpska attends the first liturgy in the newly built Spiritual Centre in Mrkonjići
Today, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited the Spiritual Centre in Mrkonjići, the native village of St. Vasilije of Ostrog and Tvrdoš, and attended the first liturgy in the newly built Spiritual Centre.
The President of the Republic said that the newly built Spiritual Centre Mrkonjići near Trebinje is a great matter not only for Herzegovina but also for the Republic of Srpska.
The President Cvijanović pointed out that she was happy since in the previous period, through the institutions in the positions she held, she was able to participate and contribute to the existence of the magnificent Spiritual Centre Mrkonjići.
According to the President of Srpska, in this way, a sense of responsibility and attention was expressed towards the intention to have a nunnery there, the sisterhood to come to life.
“It is a small contribution to a great matter”, said the President Cvijanović after the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy, which was served by His Eminence Bishop Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and Primorje at the Mrkonjići Spiritual Centre on the occasion of the feasts of Saint Vasilije of Ostrog and Tvrdoš.
The President of the Republic of Srpska expressed her gratitude to the local authorities who have always met all the needs of the citizens, not only in the infrastructural sense but also in the spiritual sense, cooperating firmly with the Serbian Orthodox Church and choosing matters that should be priorities.
“I am happy since this is one of the priorities that has gotten its function today, that it gathered us here in good faith”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that she was honored to be in Mrkonjići and to have an opportunity to share this great event and the pride she feels with the people of Herzegovina, and also with all the good people around the world.
