President of the Republic of Srpska attends the concert of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Xing’anmeng Nation on the occasion of the Chinese New Year

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended tonight the concert of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Xing’anmeng Nation from the Inner Mongolia on the occasion of the Chinese New Year in Banja Luka.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that she was proud of the cooperation Srpska has established with China, saying that such cooperation has been successful for many years now and that there is political understanding and economic interest between Srpska and China as a strong link.

The President Cvijanović expressed satisfaction with the fact that Chinese institutions and companies recognised Srpska as a place for investments and positive business and, as an example, initiated the construction of the Thermal Power Plant “Stanari” and infrastructure projects.

The President of the Republic added that certain contracts were signed, with additional dialogues being held and expected to be implemented.

“There is not an open issue between Srpska and China. On the contrary, there is a very good cooperation and understanding of global processes. We in Srpska are fascinated by the great China, which is a global giant and has done a lot of things in political transformation both in the fields of economy and trade”, said the President of Srpska.

The President of the Republic of Srpska added that it is therefore in the interest of Srpska and its citizens to continue to develop good relations with China.

The President Cvijanović noted that it is particularly encouraging having the need to bring people in Srpska and China together, saying that from the position of the Prime Minister she also supported the study of Chinese language at schools and faculties in the Republic of Srpska, as well as the establishment of the Confucius Institute within the University of Banja Luka.

“All those are ways to get closer to each other and, regardless of the fact that we share that distance geographically, we become closer and we are more and more cooperative every year”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of the Republic of Srpska wished a year of well-being and better living to the people of China and the citizens of Srpska.

“I am pleased since the institutions of Srpska together with the Embassy of China in BiH celebrate the Chinese New Year”, it was emphasized by the President of the Republic.

A solemn concert was preceded by the fireworks.
