President of the Republic of Srpska attends the concert of KUD “Taban”

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended tonight in the Cultural Centre “Mom” in Budapest the concert of KUD “Taban”.

In her address, at the beginning of the concert, the President of the Republic of Srpska expressed her satisfaction of being in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere at the concert of this KUD, which nurtures Serbian folklore in Hungary, preserves Serbian tradition and national identity.

The President of the Republic said that it is always nice to see people gathered around common values, traditions and culture, and emphasized that the small but harmonious Serbian community in Hungary can serve as a great example.

“From its inception in 1994 until today, many of our people, primarily young ones, have been part of the ensemble “Taban”, they learned about the motherland, the land of their ancestors, through dance and song, and connected with it permanently and inseparably”, said the President of Srpska.

The President of the Republic emphasized that the importance of well-organised national institutions in the process of preserving the identity of a nation is best reflected in Budapest.

“Today, I had the opportunity to visit the Serbian school and see myself the commitment and assurance of the management and teaching staff of this educational institution, which is attended by 20 students from the Republic of Srpska. In the process of our national gathering, the role of the Serbian Orthodox Church is inevitably important, since all of us gather here as well as in all other regions around the planet”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska pointed out that the Serbs who live here represent a bridge of understanding and good cooperation between Hungary on the one hand, and Serbia and the Republic of Srpska on the other.

“I would like to highlight that the relations between Hungary and Srpska are very good and that there is a mutual commitment to further improvement. This, among other things, is evidenced by our visits to this country, which are becoming more intensive, and I am convinced that there will be even more of them in the coming period”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.

The President of Srpska stated that at the same time she wants the cooperation of local Serbian institutions and associations with the Republic of Srpska to be even stronger.

“I would like you to know that you will always find fraternal support in us and our institutions. I invite you to visit the Republic of Srpska, get to know its beauties and sights, as well as the people who will welcome you warmly, in a way dear guests, friends and brothers are greeted”, it was emphasized by the President of the Republic.
