Today, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended the commemoration of the suffering of Serbs in Sijekovac in 1992.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that three decades have passed since the horrific crime in the hitherto peaceful village.
The President of Srpska added that the Sijekovac massacre was the first mass war crime in BiH during the past war, and an undoubted act of aggression in which regular forces of another state participated.
“It is a crime against peace, a crime against neighbours, locals and innocent civilians for whom the Serbian name and surname were the only guilt, thus also a verdict”, said the President Cvijanović, noting that nine civilians were killed in that crime in an hour.
The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized that the tragedy of not only Sijekovac and the past war, but also all the wars since the beginning of the world has been collected in the pain of mother Milja Zečević.
