President of the Republic of Srpska attends solemn Academy on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of Brčko District

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today the solemn Academy on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Brčko District.

The Republic of Srpska Government has invested 12 million BAM in various infrastructure projects in the Brčko District, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.

“In Brčko District, in line with what it is – the joint ownership of the two entities, we have managed to secure fixed investments from the republican budget for many years now, and as the Government of the Republic of Srpska we have provided 12 million BAM for important infrastructure projects”, said the President Cvijanović.

Most importantly, the President of the Republic emphasized that Srpska had been supplying the district with electricity for years and, on that basis, had indirectly invested 56 million BAM, which were significant funds and which aided the citizens of the district.

Apart from the infrastructure projects and schools, it was added by the President Cvijanović, the Government of Srpska, along with the Government of Serbia, also built a kindergarten in the district.

The President of the Republic highlighted that the district has not been an isolated category, nor was isolated from the framework of BiH or the region.

“It is important for the Brčko District to have a good cooperation with all levels of government in order to function more successfully. This is a space that requires certain attentiveness and consideration, and I am happy to see that the district institutions are doing their job well, but also that we, who are attached to Brčko, are helping in a certain way”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic expressed her satisfaction since the District Government is enacting and implementing a number of important projects, thus ensuring a better and safer life for its citizens.
