The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today in Germany the marking of the 50th anniversary of the Eparchy of Düsseldorf and Germany, as well as the consecration of the Temple of the Venerable Mother Paraskeva in Karlsruhe, as well as the 800th anniversary celebration of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Congratulating the Patronal Feast Day and a significant jubilee to His Eminence Bishop Grigorije of Dusseldorf and all of Germany, the clergy and priests, the President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized the importance of preserving and developing the religious and cultural identity of the Serb people.
During the address, the President Cvijanović stressed the importance of the existence of an institutional link between our people in dispora and Srpska, and expressed satisfaction with the fact that our people in the diaspora are ready to get involved in the projects of the Republic of Srpska institutions that involve establishment of a union and greater association with the homeland.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska thanked the church and the Serbian community in Germany for their efforts to preserve the Serbian identity and affirmation of the Republic of Srpska, and emphasized the support to the Eparchy Mission Fund, whose goal is to promote the religious and cultural heritage of Republic of Srpska through the realisation and organisation of cultural events.
The Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development in the Government of the Republic of Serbia Mladen Šarčević, representatives of the diplomatic and consular network of Serbia and BiH in Germany, the Mayor of Karlsruhe and representatives of other Christian churches attended the ceremonies of the Eparchy of Düsseldorf and Germany.
