The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today in Banja Luka the marking of May 9 – the Day of Victory over Fascism.
On the occasion of the Day of Victory over Fascism, the President of Srpska laid a wreath at the Monument to the Fallen Fighters of the NOR in Banja Luka.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that Srpska respects its freedom, but also the freedom of all other peoples and aims to live in peace with everyone around it and in a stable region.
After laying wreaths at the Monument to the Fallen Soldiers of NOR in Banja Luka, on the occasion of the Day of Victory over Fascism, the President Cvijanović said that May 9 was a great day in the history of mankind, and particularly in the history of libertarian peoples.
“We are happy to belong to the group of those libertarian peoples who brought freedom to the whole world by participating in the collapse of the great plague that threatened to destroy the entire planet”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic expressed satisfaction that the Republic of Srpska marks and celebrates such important dates in history in the right way and that it nurtures the true values on which the People’s Liberation Struggle rested, adding that the future of Srpska is aimed at preserving such values.
“Today we are developing as a free democratic society, but we are always aware of everything that happened in our past, and while appreciating our past and history, we are able to build our future. That is why we know that it is very important for Srpska, but also for the other democratic and libertarian world, to make a connection between what had happened and what will happen in the future”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic added that today, Srpska is dealing with all the problems that exist on the global level and which are part of the modern world.
The President Cvijanović stated that dark ideologies such as fascism could present a threat to the end of humanity and all the values we strives for, and that we should all respect the fact that we live in freedom.
