The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended a humanitarian event for the construction of the Serbian-Russian Spiritual Centre of Orthodoxy at the Monastery of St. Matrona of Moscow in Ritešić near Doboj.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska stated that the Russian Federation had never conditioned Srpska on the political scene, and that the Serbs and Russians had always been on the side of truth throughout history.
The President Cvijanović thanked the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH Petar Ivancov, President of the Association of Serbian-Russian Friendship and Unity of Orthodox Peoples Zoran Gajić and the City Administration for fostering of good relations between the Serbian and Russian people.
“I would like to extend gratitude to all the people who maintain these relationships. I believe in Srpska, and also in the friendships we need to build”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of the Republic said that the complex in Ritešić near Doboj, apart from its material value, also has its spiritual value and it should be promoted in order to attract Russian tourists as well as the local ones.
The President Cvijanović expressed her satisfaction that she attended a humanitarian event today for the construction of the Serbian-Russian Spiritual Centre of Orthodoxy at the Monastery of St. Matrona of Moscow in Ritešić near Doboj, and wished this complex to finally be built.
“I am happy since as the President of the Republic I was able to contribute in some way to the construction of this spiritual centre with a monastery”, said the President of the Republic, adding that, in addition to showing the friendship and unity of the Serbian and Russian people, culture and tradition, it is very important to position this site in such a way that it attracts Russian tourists, but also the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and surrounding countries.
“I am pleased since we are part of this project and we will certainly institutionally support such activities”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH have previously visited the monastery complex, an exhibition of the Russian icons and stands, which were set up as a part of the traditional event “Days of honey, brandy and fish pot”.
