The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović and the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik organised a farewell reception today, at the Palace of the Republic, on the occasion of the end of the mandate of the Consul of Serbia in Banja Luka Vladimir Nikolić.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that there is the highest level of cooperation between Srpska and Serbia, to which the Consul General of Serbia in Banja Luka Vladimir Nikolić has also contributed a lot.
At the farewell reception for Consul Nikolić, the President Cvijanović emphasized that, due to that cooperation, Serbia has left its mark in every local community in Srpska in recent years.
“Serbia has invested in numerous projects and I am sure that it will be the same in the future. In the implementation of all these projects, Nikolić was an important link”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Cvijanović thanked Consul Nikolić for everything he did for the people in Srpska and for being an integral part of what the Republic of Srpska represents.
“Consul Nikolić has been someone who lived a life with us in Srpska, who did not just serve here as most diplomats do. We are here today to point out that we carry the best impressions from this period of our cooperation of 7,5 years”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic stated that in that period, both Srpska and Serbia were faced with various problems, which are burdensome in the political, but also economic and financial sense, from the floods, droughts, crises to the corona virus.
“But what we did during that period is that we have strengthened our ties and today we can boast that of what we have gained in the previous years is definitely the highest level of cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and Serbia”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska expressed satisfaction that in recent years a huge number of people from the Republic of Srpska have obtained citizenship of Serbia.
“We want to encourage all our residents to behave in that way and to understand that there is a strategic connection in all this”, said the President Cvijanović.
