President of the Republic of Srpska and the BiH Presidency Chairman hold a press conference

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that claiming to use Bonn Powers at the UN Security Council session represents intentionally and consciously inserting of pistons on the European path of BiH, like the SDA doing that with not forming the government, and that a message has been sent that there is no European perspective of BiH.

The President of the Republic rejected the allegations brought to the account of the Republic of Srpska at the UN Security Council session, as well as the assertion that the removal of the High Representative destabilises BiH, stating that the Srebrenica Commission is in the function of reviewing the verdicts, revising history or it is to violate cohesion in the country.

“On behalf of the institutions and citizens of the Republic of Srpska, I reject all the allegations that were presented there at the expense of Srpska. It is about the most common lie and brutal manipulation. I reject the claim that the removal of the High Representative is required by those who want to destabilise the country. The removal of the High Representative is being sought by those who support the European path. According to the logic of things, there is a country with a high representative and it is not stable, so, I do not know what is there to destabilise.

The Srebrenica Commission is in the function of reconciliation and why anyone bothers to seek the truth if everything made by the foreign factor and the Bosniak politicians was right”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.

Speaking about the assessment that the Srebrenica Commission would violate cohesion in BiH, the President Cvijanović emphasized that there is no cohesion precisely because the High Representative, together with a number of foreign countries, divided the internal environment in BiH with his subjugation, reduced the democratic capacity of BiH, was most often in function of misleading instead of improving internal relations, and he deprived an important international forum of accurate and truthful information about what are the real safety and political challenges for BiH.

“I reject the claims of Valentin Inzko that the reports sent by the Srpska Government to the UN Security Council are illegal and that they do not exist. If they did not exist, they would not have been quoted by any of the members of the Security Council, but they were quoted. They are neither illegitimate, since nothing in the Dayton Agreement limits the entities to communicate with the UN, international organisations or members of the Security Council”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.

The President of Srpska stated that it is not only that such restrictions do not exist but the BiH Constitution explicitly foresees that the entities can realise such communication.

“For this reason, the BiH Constitutional Court expressly confirmed the right of the Republic of Srpska to submit reports to the Security Council in 2010, and the High Representative should be familiar with this decision which was made at the beginning of his mandate”, it was highlighted by the President Cvijanović.

The Republic of Srpska President also rejected claims that the establishment of a reserve police force represented the formation of an army or armed forces of the Republic of Srpska.

“It is a pure fabrication and the simplest deliberately placed lie. The strikes at the Ministry of Interior and the Police of Srpska have been going on for some time in continuity – there are stories on paramilitary formations, then on the militarisation of the police and armaments, and now on the establishment of an entity army”, said the President Cvijanović.

According to her, there is no lack of fictional topics about the Republic of Srpska, and among them there is one over the report that the High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko submitted to the UN Security Council, as well as the discussions that followed. “I regret to note that by referring to the use of Bonn powers and trying to reaffirm the power of the High Representative they deliberately and consciously inserted pistons into the European path of BiH, just as the SDA is now blocking the election of the new Council of Ministers. They have actually sent us a message that there is no European perspective for BiH, although they like to say that there is one”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that this is quite the opposite of the Republic of Srpska’s commitment to the membership in the EU and to do so through the coordination mechanism.

The President Cvijanović pointed out that government has not yet been established at the level of BiH and the Federation of BiH, that the gray zone has been entered and that the current Council of Ministers has no legitimacy.

“It is clear that this represents a direct attack to the will of the voters in the Republic of Srpska and it prevents progress on the European path. This is a clear indication that BiH has entered the gray zone and is in the clutches of irresponsible Sarajevo politicians who deliberately block the process of forming the government to prevent the parties which are the election winners from Srpska to take positions at the level of BiH in accordance with the will of the voters or the citizens of the Republic of Srpska”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska pointed out that this also represents a deliberate obstruction of the European path of BiH, since the EU officials clearly said that there was no positive opinion, and therefore no candidate status if the electoral results were not implemented and the government was not formed.

“It is clear that the existing Council of Ministers has no legitimacy, credibility, or authority to participate in any process, nor to undertake or fulfill any obligations. If we add to this the fact that the Croatian ministers almost do not take part in the work of this outgoing Council of Ministers, and that the Serb ministers only vegetate there, then it is clear why BiH has entered the gray zone and why such Council of Ministers nobody takes seriously in BiH, and neither abroad”, said the President Cvijanović. According to her, if it somehow happens that the Serb party blocks the formation of the Council of Ministers, as the SDA does now, all Western media would stamp the Republic of Srpska and would say that it undermines BiH and democracy, while now none of them has been particularly concerned.

The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed to the link between the SDA and a part of the international community to prevent the formation of government at the level of BiH. The President of Srpska expressed satisfaction with the fact that Srpska has demonstrated its full democratic capacity by rapid implementation of election results and the formation of a new Government.

“Srpska is a well-organised and functional society. Over the past years, we have increased salaries, pensions, social benefits, we have introduced new social rights, improved dialogue with social partners, we have built hospitals, schools, roads and highways, and this is the commitment of the new Government. Our intention is to strengthen our institutions, but also to oppose attacks on the constitutional capacity and identity of Srpska”, it was concluded by the President Cvijanović.
