President of the Republic of Srpska and Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska hold a meeting with representatives of the largest commercial media, as well as representatives of public services and news agencies

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković met today with representatives of the largest commercial media, as well as representatives of public services and news agencies.

At the meeting they discussed the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Srpska caused by the emergence of the new Corona virus, the measures and activities undertaken by the Srpska institutions, and the contribution of the media with the aim of accurately, timely and professionally informing citizens in these, extraordinary circumstances.

It has been jointly assessed that media reporting can be crucial in crisis situations by providing accurate and comprehensive information on time, and that media professionals / journalists can make a positive contribution to preventing or resolving certain crisis situations by adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards.

During the conversation, the need to take preventive measures on more effective protection of employees in media was pointed out, and accordingly, media representatives were informed that the Republic of Srpska institutions are taking all necessary measures, as well as the use of modern technologies in order to provide journalists with a smooth and secure work.
