President of the Republic attends the reception on the occasion of the Russia Day

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended today, in Banja Luka, a reception organised by the Embassy of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the Russia Day – June 12.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that relations between Srpska and Russia are friendly, full of understanding, that they cherish the same family and traditional values, as well as the creation of a strong sovereign state and sovereign decision-making, without interfering in internal affairs.

“Russia is important for Srpska because it consistently implements the Dayton Peace Agreement, it does not do things that would look like an experiment, we appreciate that”, said the President Dodik.

The President Dodik pointed out that the Republic of Srpska appreciates Russia’s role in the UN Security Council, because it is ready to hear the position of Srpska, and not just the lies that various high representatives are trying to spread.

The President of the Republic emphasized that Srpska cooperates with Russia, but that it has nothing against cooperation with other Eastern and Western countries.

“We are neutral in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we do not join Western sanctions against Russia and we want the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible”, said the President Dodik.

The President of Srpska stated that today they are trying to demonise Russia, to talk about its “malignant influence” in BiH, and that such influence, if it exists, could be attributed to the West and NATO, which threw depleted uranium, which caused many malignant diseases.

The President Dodik stated that he was extremely proud of the award given to him by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for his great contribution to the development of cooperation between the Russian Federation and Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening the partnership with the Republic of Srpska.

“As far as I understood, it is about the highest award /Order of Alexander Nevsky/ awarded to foreign statesmen and I am glad to be treated in that way. I will enjoy the moment when I receive that medal from the President of the Russian Federation”, said the President Dodik and congratulated him on the Russia Day.

The President of Srpska said that he was also proud of the certificate of thanks that was presented to him today by the President of the Union of Journalists of Russia, Vladimir Solovjov, for supporting international journalistic cooperation.

On this occasion, the President of Republika Srpska was presented with an award from the Union of Journalists of Russia.

The reception was also attended by the Serbian member and chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković, ministers, MPs and other guests from the political and social life of the Republika Srpska and Russia.
