The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended today in Banja Luka settlement of Ada the ceremony of awarding the keys on the occasion of the completion of a multi-family residential building with 50 apartments, intended for the permanent care of displaced persons and returnees.

On that occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska expressed his belief that the refugee and displaced families, who were presented with the keys to their apartments today, will finally be able to have a safe and decent life after years of waiting.

The President of Srpska said that the building with 50 apartments for refugees and displaced persons was built as part of the Regional Housing Programme, which was jointly implemented by international donors and local institutions.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped in this programme, which is implemented throughout the Republic of Srpska. More than 100 apartments are being built in Doboj, and we intend to build more apartments here. This is a good opportunity to finally solve the issue of housing displaced people in Srpska”, said the President of the Republic.

The President Dodik pointed out that the issue of displaced people, not just refugees, has become a priority in international programmes.

“On behalf of the Republic of Srpska, I am satisfied since this programme works and since we have the opportunity to solve the housing issue for people who have been waiting for a long time”, said the President of Srpska.
