President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the leadership of the Municipality of Novi Grad

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Novi Grad with the leadership of this municipality. The President of the Republic said that she wanted the issue of radioactive waste disposal on Trgovska Gora to be resolved diplomatically, through the talks, because no one wants to resolve it in court.

“The commitment of the Government of Srpska is to continue the implementation of projects in Novi Grad, but also to give support for solving two key issues – recategorisation of the border crossing and the problem of Trgovska gora”, it was said by the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that all levels of government should be involved in solving these problems, since that is an issue on which BiH can pass the test, that is, to show whether it is possible to work together and defend the interests of the citizens.

“I wish the issue of Trgovska Gora to be resolved diplomatically through the talks, because no one is interested in resolving issues in the court. We are here to give support to the citizens who are fighting for a healthy environment”, it was stressed by Cvijanović.

The President Cvijanović pointed out that, despite the corona virus pandemic, the situation in Novi Grad is stable when it comes to the municipal budget and that the epidemiological situation is under control.

The President of the Republic stressed that significant projects have been implemented in this local community with the support of the Government of Srpska.

The President Cvijanović stated that the local government in Novi Grad has clear plans for development, regardless of the problems caused by the corona virus pandemic in all local communities.

“There are clear plans, there is the will of the Government of the Republic of Srpska to implement all the projects that will enable a better quality of life for the citizens”, said the President of Srpska.

The Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija and the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Srđan Rajčević also attended the meeting.

After the meeting with the leadership of the Municipality of Novi Grad, the President Cvijanović also met with the Head of the Association “Green Team” Novi Grad, Mario Crnković.
