President of the Republic of Srpska visits the municipality of East Novo Sarajevo
The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited the municipality of East New Sarajevo today.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that the institutions of the Republic of Srpska will continue to help the development of the municipality of East Novo Sarajevo, as they have done so far, and announced the construction of another school that will be completed in a few years.
The President of the Republic praised the cooperation of the leadership of this local community with all institutions of the Republic of Srpska, and pointed out that the territory of East Sarajevo is of strategic importance for Srpska, where the population that once lived in Sarajevo and suffered trauma in the civil war remained.
“I feel really good here, because I see a new city that looks modern and meets the needs of its inhabitants, and there are people who have a vision of how to develop further”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that she gives support to everything the local authorities have imagined and implemented, as well as that the leadership of East New Sarajevo understands the needs of its inhabitants and wants to be at their service.
“I can promise the citizens of East New Sarajevo that everything they agree on together with the local authorities will be supported by the republican authorities”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic pointed out that the current mayor of East Novo Sarajevo Jovan Katić and his predecessor Ljubisa Ćosić, together with the institutions of the Republic of Srpska, have created a place with more residents and children, which increases the need for new facilities and offers.
After the meeting with the mayor and a joint tour of the Park of remarkable people, locations where the lake and the kindergarten will be built, the President of Srpska said that with today’s visit she wants to support the vision of building the municipality of East New Sarajevo.
“I thank Mayor Katić for the invitation, who wants this municipality to continue to develop, as it has developed so far, without losing this dynamic which is visible and present throughout the year”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that a recreational centre with a lake and a whole range of other facilities would be built here, which would be a peaceful oasis for the residents of this local community, and expressed satisfaction because there is a need for facilities for preschool and school children.
The President of the Republic supported the construction of a new school, but also a kindergarten, for which she said that the Office of the President of the Republic of Srpska will participate in co-financing that project.
“I will send businessmen so that they, as investors, will be the ones who will make apartments. Today, we can be proud of cultural and sports contents, and it will be continued in the future”, said the President Cvijanović.
