Opening of the exhibition “Paintings from the Underground: Characters of Dostoevsky” by His Eminence Bishop Maxim of Western America

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended today in the Museum of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka the ceremonial opening of the exhibition “Images from the Underground: Characters of Dostoevsky”, by His Eminence Bishop Maxim of Western America.

Speaking about the exhibition of paintings, which marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fyodor Mikhaylovich Dostoyevsky, one of the world’s greatest writers, the President of the Republic said that no one can eliminate the image and great work of the Russian writer from the collective memory of this civilization.

The President of Srpska pointed out that this exhibition, which was presented all over the world, says that we should go back to the times written by the characters of the Russian writer, and that humanity would get to know the strong and great Russian culture that marked the past times.

“With this exhibition, we show our commitment to real artistic and lasting values which cannot be eliminated from the collective memory by any bans”, said the President Dodik.
