On the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska, wreaths were laid today in Banja Luka at the Memorial to the Fallen Soldiers of the Army of the Republic of Srpska at the St. Pantelija Cemetery and at the Square of the Fallen Soldiers of NOR.

The laying of wreaths was attended by the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, the Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, the President of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the Republic of Srpska was formed in peace and that the people’s decision to celebrate the Day of the Republic is more important than the politically motivated decision of any court.

“At that time, there was no war or shooting in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is something that bothers many people in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of Srpska emphasized that the plebiscite decision to celebrate the Day of the Republic of Srpska, despite the shameful decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is respected in this way, stressing that the decision of the people is more important than the decision of any politically motivated court.

“There is absolutely no example in the world that a nation’s holiday of existence was determined by a constitutional court. This has always been determined by history and the people and the most important event that the people think it is”, said the President Dodik.

The President of the Republic said that today the Republic of Srpska is stable, safe and secure, directed towards its development, that it has its own path and knows what it wants.

“During these 31 years, the Republic of Srpska leaves behind a difficult struggle through the war, the post-war political struggle and the violence of the international community”, said the President of Srpska.
