Meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality of Višegrad

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik met today in Višegrad with the Mayor of the Municipality of Višegrad Mladen Đurević.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that expropriation should be negotiated in the coming months and an agreement reached with the contractors on the highway that will be connected to the highway from Serbia, towards East Sarajevo.

“We are conducting talks so that in the coming months there will be negotiations on expropriation and agreements with contractors. The route has been determined and that puts Višegrad in a very good position in terms of communication”, said the President Dodik.

The President of the Republic said that studies are being made to build a highway above Višegrad at the point of contact with the highway that goes towards East Sarajevo towards Rudo, Foča and further to Trebinje.

“This is the route that we will develop in the coming years, and all other highway routes are almost contracted in the Republic of Srpska, and as soon as there is space, we will negotiate the construction of that part of the highway towards Foča”, it was stressed by the President Dodik.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that Andrićgrad should be finished since its creator Emir Kusturica conceived and brought to the level of useful, artistic and cultural value.

“The construction of Andrićgrad was a great gift to this municipality and this made it possible and drew attention to Višegrad and the arrival of a significant number of people who stay or come here because of Andrićgrad or Višegrad, and we need to improve that”, said the President Dodik.

The President of Srpska stated that the institution of the Višegrad Municipal Assembly is functioning and that the councilors are working with significant support to the Mayor and his team, which means that there are no delays as there were in the past.

The President Dodik emphasized that the water supply and sewerage network is outdated and that it is ready for renewal.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that this year a project will be created, costing one million BAM, for which funds have been secured, and that next year he expects that the Mayor will issue all the necessary permits to start the construction of a water supply and sewage network with a treatment plant that will serve Višegrad as to a tourist place means the beginning of everything.

“It is an investment that will amount to 20 million BAM, but with the joint efforts of the municipality, the company “Hidroelektrane na Drini” we will enter into that extensive project and finish it as a base, and then proceed to the reconstruction of streets and roads. We agreed to complete the part of the road towards Višegradska banja next year, and by then to prepare projects and permits, and the Directorate for Roads will undertake the obligation to complete it in the optimal period”, it was concluded by the President Dodik.
