The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended a reception in Belgrade tonight on the occasion of January 9, the Day of the Republic of Srpska and February 28, the day when the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska was adopted.
The President of the Republic stated that January 9 – the Day of the Republic is one of the most important dates in Srpska and that this date cannot disappear from the history of the Serb people.
“This nation built its entire history on the truth, and we cannot change the dates”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic said that he was proud to have participated in the creation of the Republic of Srpska on January 9, 1992, and he pointed out the importance of adopting its constitution, which was written by the most intelligent Serb people from that period.
The President Dodik stated that the Serb people are persistently under the curse “dabogda se sam zabavio”, and added that the Serbs have been there for years and decades, convinced that, without a state, there is no freedom and survival.
Therefore, go and see what is happening with the Serbs, from Slovenia where they do not have the status of a national minority, Croatia, the Federation of BiH, Montenegro, said the President of the Republic and added that the Serb people do not know how to engage in revanchism.
The President of Srpska pointed out that Kosovo and Metohija is an important point in Serbian history and that it must not be allowed to be lost.
The President Dodik stated that no Serbian politician must mislead Serbs that life in brotherhood and unity is possible.
“The Republic of Srpska is committed to peace, we have Serbia and the Republic of Srpska and we need to defend that, we do not need war, we will get our rights through politics”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska noted that today there is peace on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that hatred is always smoldering, although it seems that the Serbs do not have the strength to hate.
“We do not want a BiH in which Dayton and the Constitution are threatened, that is not the BiH we agreed to”, said the President Dodik and emphasized the strong Serbian identity.
The President of the Republic said that there will be many more fights, European values will invade and demand what does not belong to us, which should destroy the story of identity, but he believes that Serbia and Srpska have the strength to defend that identity.
“Srpska has accepted to move towards the EU, but not to join the NATO. We will never forget that NATO bombed us. The Republic of Srpska has political strength, I think we have positioned ourselves well in BiH, they cannot decide anything without us”, said the President of Srpska.
The President Dodik stated that in such an unsettled country, any development is being prevented.
“If it remained seven days without the American or British ambassador, BiH would not exist, it lives only because they have the will to terrorize us with their demands”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Dodik added that every day they try to take away some competences from Srpska, so that would only leave an empty shell.
“We stopped that. Our policy is a policy of peace. We do not hide that we want a greater degree of autonomy. We do not hide that we do not feel good in BiH, nor do we want to impose our opinion on other peoples”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic added that together with Serbia and its President Aleksandar Vučić, they celebrate holidays, which he is proud of, as well as the joint holiday of September 15 – the Day of Serbian Unity.
“We want a strong Serbia, and no one but us in Bosnia and Herzegovina wants that”, it was emphasized by the President of Srpska and noted that they should not touch the Serbs.
On this occasion, the President Dodik presented the Order of the Republic of Srpska on a ribbon to His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, and the Order of Honor with Golden Rays to the well-known Serbian and worldwide endocrinologist Dr. Svetlana Vujović.
