International basketball tournament ceremonially opened on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the “Igokea” Basketball Club
The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended tonight in Banja Luka the opening ceremony of the international basketball tournament on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Basketball Club “Igokea”.
The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that this is a special night dedicated to basketball and all sports in Srpska.
The President Dodik said that sports in Srpska and its representatives should always be respected and supported, because they celebrate the name of the Republic all over the world and Europe.
The President of the Republic emphasized that “Igokea” Basketball Club is an important sports team of Srpska.
“We hope to gather here for the final game on Sunday. All this is dedicated to all the good people that sport brings together. Also, I would like to congratulate the Serbian national team for reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup, believing that they will achieve additional success”, said the President of Srpska.
The President Dodik stated that his sports career is related to basketball and the club from Aleksandrovac for which he played.
“Our basketball playing was marked by a rivalry with the “Borac” Basketball Club, with which we are now brother clubs”, said the President of the Republic and added that the development of “Borac” will be supported.
The President of the Republic of Srpska thanked for the organisation of this international tournament, and told everyone to enjoy top basketball in the coming days.
