Foundation stone was laid for the construction of the new PHI Trebinje
Hospital

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended today in Trebinje the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the new Public Health Institution Trebinje Hospital.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the construction of a new hospital is an important historical moment for this city and the Republic of Srpska, because it is a facility that will meet future needs, not just the current ones.

The President of the Republic pointed out that there are more and more people who are interested in living in Trebinje, and added that the modern hospital will certainly contribute to making such a decision easier.

The President of Srpska noted that a lot has been done in Trebinje in more than 20 years since he first visited this city as the Prime Minister of Srpska, adding that it was almost closed for communication.

„Today, when I turn around and see, since that first visit, when I fell in love with this city and believed that I could get your support through my work, and I thank you for it, we have solved all the problems – the road to Herceg Novi, the tunnel on Čemerno. We will also build an airport”, said the President Dodik.

The President of the Republic added that there are always malicious comments that should not be looked back on, but that it is important to be united around big projects.

“This is also being questioned by certain people with the intention of saying that this is their country and that their rights have been usurped. The Republic of Srpska is not here to usurp anyone’s rights, we are building this in accordance with the law, without the intention of harming anyone”, said the President of Srpska.

The President Dodik called on all those who are considered injured to seek compensation in accordance with the law, and noted that the Republic of Srpska has a mechanism to exempt sites for the construction of what is needed.

The President of the Republic also stated that criticism of the financial resources necessary for the construction of a new hospital was not founded, because with half the funds, a hospital for the past, not the future, would have been built.

The President Dodik added that the malicious ones see a problem in the fact that the work will be carried out by local workforce from Herzegovina.

“They have been saying for 30 years that the Republic of Srpska is in trouble, but here is the Republic of Srpska!”, stressed the President of Srpska and pointed out that he believes that someone else, after him, will continue to lead Srpska on the right path and build hospitals.

The President of the Republic thanked Serbia for the help and support, and reminded that the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić designed a programme to build something in every municipality of Srpska, whose financier or co-financier will be Serbia.

“We will not get tired of expecting to build together a society in which we will be integrated, a society of freedom, just as we want freedom for other peoples as well. There is no freedom without a state. They will certainly not agree with me in Sarajevo, but I say that this is a state project of the Republic of Srpska. This is the biggest investment in the last 30 years in Herzegovina, and that is why it is important to be united around it”, said the President Dodik.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that he expects that in 30 months there will be a new gathering in Trebinje, but around a modern and well-built hospital.
