First session of the Committee for the Celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska held

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović chaired today the first session of the Committee for the Celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska 2020.

At the session held at the Palace of the Republic, the Committee for the Celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska was established, the proposal of the Celebration Programme was adopted and the Working Group for the preparation and realisation of the celebration of the Day of the Republic was formed.

The Committee members determined that the central events for the celebration of the Day of the Republic, as in previous years, would be a festive defile on Krajina Square and a solemn academy in the Sports Hall Borik.

The Day of the Republic of Srpska 2020 celebration programme provides receptions with the President of the Republic of Srpska for numerous delegations.

The celebration programme also envisages holding a session of the Senate of the Republic of Srpska, as well as awarding of decorations to institutions and individuals.

It is also planned to lay wreaths and flowers to the memorials of fallen soldiers of the Republic of Srpska Army and NOR fighters, the Memorial Ossuary, Monument to Banja Luka Babies, as well as to the memorial of the former Republic of Srpska President Dr Milan Jelić.

The Day of the Republic of Srpska will be celebrated in all cities and municipalities of the Republic of Srpska, as well as in the Brčko District.
