President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the Director General of the European Commission for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, the Executive Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service and the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Banja Luka with the Director General of the European Commission for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson, the Executive Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service Thomas Mayr-Harting and the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.

At the meeting which was also attended by the Head of Unit for BiH at the Directorate General of the European Commission for Enlargement Michela Matuella and expert associate for BiH at the European External Action Service Alexis Hupin, it was stated that the formation of a new convocation of the Council of Ministers is the precondition for efficient communication between the entities and levels of joint institutions, which, in accordance with the harmonised coordination mechanism, is a necessary element in the process of the European integration of BiH.

The President Cvijanović stressed that the Government of the Republic of Srpska was the first to verify the translated consolidated answers to the additional questions from the European Commission Questionnaire and expressed the expectation that other levels of government would make additional efforts in order to provide the answers to the additional questions to the European Commission as soon as possible.

The President of Srpska once again stressed that the Republic of Srpska is fully committed to the European integration, which, in accordance with the agreed rules of the coordination system, guarantees full respect for the constitutional position, as well as the competencies of the Republic of Srpska and its institutions.

After the meeting, a working lunch was organised with a Delegation of the European Union, which was attended by the President Cvijanović, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković and Ministers Zlatan Klokić, Lejla Rešić and Dragan Lukač.
