In the presence of the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, representatives of “Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske” /ERS/ and Mine and Thermal Power Plant /RiTE/ “Gacko” concluded a contract worth more than BAM 360 million in Gacko today for joint participation in the energy market.
The contract was signed by ERS General Director Luka Petrović and Acting Director of RiTE “Gacko” Maksim Skoko.
After signing the contract, the President Dodik said that RiTE “Gacko” remains a strategic company in the energy system of the Republic of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that in the coming period, work will be performed on finding a solution that will ensure the long-term sustainability of production in that company, as well as on the provision of new equipment for long-term projects and on the provision of professional workforce.
“This company must continue to work in the future, not only for the sake of Gacko, but also for the sake of the entire Republic of Srpska and the region, because it ensures the stability of our electricity supply”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska announced that from the next school year, professional staff will be trained in Gacko exclusively for the needs of RiTE “Gacko”, and it will be necessary to retrain part of the existing staff for the needs of that company.
“Many issues must be resolved, and I encourage the Administration to do it actively in order to create an even more optimal system”, it was pointed out by the President Dodik, stating that it is important that the 98 percent level of production safety in that company is important.
