Congratulations on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik extended congratulations to the journalists, associations of journalists and employees of mass media in the Republic of Srpska on May 3 – the World Press Freedom Day.

“This date is a reminder of the fact how important the role of the media and timely information of the public plays in the modern world.

The media is certainly one of the most important pillars of any democratic society, and that is why it is important that they are guided by the right values in their professional work, and that they provide the public with objective and reliable information.

Freedom of the media is the foundation of democracy, but this freedom must not be abused in order to disseminate untrue and unfounded information to the public.

Professional journalism and professional media will always have the full support of all institutions and society in overcoming challenges, in order to provide them with a better position and better working conditions.

On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to all journalists and media houses who follow the current events and I wish them success in their further work, and a better professional and material status.”, reads the congratulation letter of the President of the Republic of Srpska.
