Congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Veterans of the Defense Patriotic War of the Republic of Srpska and the First Serbian Uprising

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik congratulated the President of the Veterans’ Organisation of the Republic of Srpska Radan Ostojić and all members of the Army of the Republic of Srpska on the Day of Veterans of the Defense Patriotic War of the Republic of Srpska and the First Serbian Uprising.

“I extend my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Veterans of the Defense Patriotic War of the Republic of Srpska and the First Serbian Uprising to the Veterans’ organisation of the Republic of Srpska and all members of the Army of the Republic of Srpska.

The role of Serbian veterans and the sacrifice they made with the aim of creating and preserving the Republic of Srpska are immeasurable, because without their struggle, courage, heroism and selfless sacrifice, there would be no Republic of Srpska and the freedom of the Serb people today.

Therefore, this important date in the history of our nation must never be forgotten, and it is the duty and obligation of all of us to preserve the legacy of the Defensive-Patriotic War and cherish the memory of the fighters who are most deserving of the freedom we enjoy today with special respect.

We owe them respect and gratitude, the institutions of the Republic of Srpska must do everything to enable the families of fallen soldiers, surviving soldiers and war-military invalids to have a better life and the implementation of all the rights they deserve”, it is stated in the congratulation letter by the President of the Republic of Srpska.
