The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik extended congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.
“Today, the Republic of Srpska and Serbia jointly celebrate the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, a holiday that symbolizes our eternal aspiration for freedom and the preservation of a unique national identity.
Our national unity was expressed and developed most often in the most difficult conditions, in the wars in which our ancestors gave their lives, defending the freedom of our people.
The time has come to demonstrate unity in peace, in will, building bridges and roads that will connect us not only with each other, but also with other peoples and civilizations.
The time has come for us to unite around values that will ensure that there are more of us on this earth, not to threaten others, but to contribute to the development of our own and other countries in which we live.
Progress, a good standard of living and a promising future are important to the Serbs, as well as to other peoples. However, we know very well that all this is not possible without living in freedom. We cannot exchange freedom for anything, because if we lose freedom, we lose everything. Even those in whose honour we established this holiday did not change it.
I would like to congratulate the entire Serbian people, wherever they are, the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, with the wish that the Serbian tricolour flies forever!
