The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, together with the Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, attended today the Christmas reception organised by His Eminence Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka in the Bishop’s Palace.

On that occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska and the Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency presented Bishop Jefrem with the panagia of the Holy Mother of God.

The President of the Republic said that the Serbian Orthodox Church has the most positive attitude towards the overall development of the Republic of Srpska, stressing that it is very important that the Serb people are dedicated to their church and holidays.

“The Serbian Orthodox Church on the territory of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina is not involved in politics and in the institutional sense it fulfills its mission and role. And that separates it from some other religious communities in this region, which are trying to be or are involved in politics”, said the President Dodik.

The President of Srpska stated that future plans were discussed at the reception.

“We gather around our common ideas, and the common idea is the freedom of our people and the Republic”, said the President of the Republic.
